2017 Members' Juried Art Exhibit Winners 

OGDENSBURG, NY - The Frederic Remington Art Museum’s 2017 Members’ Juried Art Exhibition opened Saturday, May 20 in the museum’s Richard E. Winter Gallery and Torrey Family Gallery. 
The exhibit includes ​57 works of art by 51 artists. The exhibit will be on display through September 17, 2017.
​​Juror Anne Swiderski selected prize winners from the art included. The 3rd place prize went to Gerard Butler of Garrison, NY for Honor Thy Father 2012, Photo print on metal, 40 x 28"; 2nd place went to Gary Larsen of Edinburg, NY for Goat Island 2017, B&W infrared photograph, 28 x 20”​; and Best in Show went to Eleanor Sweeney of Saranac Lake, NY for At the Temple of Dendur 2017, Photograph, 13 1/2 x 11 1/2"​.​ ​Gary Larsen is a repeat prize winner from previous years in the annual members' exhibit. ​
​The public is invited to view the exhibition, either in person or online, and vote for an additional prize, the Public’s Choice Award. Through September 13 voting will take place in the online gallery and in person at the museum. ​One vote per person, please! The artist who created the winning work will win a framed print of Frederic Remington’s, White Wings 1894.
Many of the works will be for sale. One third of the proceeds benefit the Frederic Remington Art Museum, and two thirds go to the artist. The exhibit will have an online gallery at

The Frederic Remington Art Museum is located at 303 Washington Street, Ogdensburg, NY 13669. The Museum is dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, preserving and interpreting the art and archives of Frederic Remington, and contains an unmatched collection of his works. The Museum is open October 15 through May 15, Wednesday through Saturday11 am to 5 pm and Sunday1 to 5 pm and May 16 through October 14Monday through Saturday10 am to 5 pm and Sunday1 to 5 pm.
