OGDENSBURG, NY – The Frederic Remington Art Museum has opened a new exhibit in its Richard E. Winter Gallery, “Frederic Remington Makes Tracks… Adventures and Artistic Impressions.” The exhibit, organized by the museum in 2005, has toured the country. It has been exhibited at eleven museums. The touring exhibit featured 50 antique Remington prints, drawn from the museum’s extensive collection. Curator Laura Foster has selected some of her favorite images for a more intimate exhibition of twenty prints. The exhibit will close on October 24th to make way for the 2009 International Juried Art Exhibit, which will open Saturday, November 7th |
Members’ Juried Art Exhibit Closes
OGDENSBURG, NY - The Frederic Remington Art Museum’s first Members’ Juried Art Exhibit closed Saturday, June 13th at 5:00 pm. The Public’s Choice prize was awarded to Louise Barker of Ottawa, Ontario for her oil on canvas painting, Blue Weed. Museum visitors voted throughout the exhibit for the works of their choice, and many online viewers voted via email. Blue Weed, depicting a Himalayan poppy, received 54 votes. Barker will receive a framed print of Frederic Remington’s 1890 painting, Antoine’s Cabin.
